Choose the edition that best meets your needs, or consider purchasing LabVIEW as part of one of our software suites. O Rapid development with express technology: Use configuration-based Express Vis and I/O assistants to rapidly create common measurement applications without programming by using LabVIEW signal Express o Compiled language for fast execution: LabVIEW is a compiled language that generates optimized code with execution speeds. Logarithmic—Sets the scale mapping mode to be logarithmic, which scales the signal based on a decibel reference. LabVIEW scales the signal using the following equation: y = 20log 10 (x/db reference) db reference—Reference for the Logarithmic scaling. The default is 1. NI LabVIEW Student Edition has the same functionality as the LabVIEW full development system. LabVIEW is a graphical programming environment used by millions of engineers and scientists to develop sophisticated measurement, test, and control systems using intuitive graphical icons and wires that resemble a flowchart.

Accessing LABView
LabVIEW is available on UQ computers for all UQ staff and HDR students on campuses in Queensland.
Remarkable Labview Signal Express For Mac Pro
Midi files cinderella. If you are a staff member or an HDR student with a staff account, you can download the LabVIEW installer for UQ computers from the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology student software section.
If you are not part of one of these groups but are still eligible to use LabVIEW, contact your local IT support or submit an IT request to get LabVIEW.
Home use
- Staff and HDR (postgraduate) students: you can connect to the server by VPN or contact helpdesk@eait.uq.edu.au for a Detached Licence for LabVIEW.
- Undergraduate students: you can't use LabVIEW at home using a UQ licence.
Setting up your personal computer
- Install LabVIEW on your personal computer.
- Find your computer ID by going to 'Start' > 'Programs' > 'National Instruments' > 'NI Licence Manager', then go into 'Options' > 'Display Computer Information' to get the ID number.
- Email your computer ID and name to labviewinfo@its.uq.edu.au to ask for a Detached Licence.
Alternatively, you can use VPN to connect to the Licence Server and complete your installation.
Conditions of use
LabVIEW is available to all current UQ employees and HDR students who have valid UQ login credentials and who are based in Queensland.
The UQ site licence allows all academics, students and researchers to use LabVIEW for teaching or non-commercial research but not for commercial applications.
LabVIEW used to be funded by the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology and the Faculty of Science. The funding is being reviewed to include new areas that use the software. The licence is renewed annually on 29 September.

Dialog Box Options
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Number of signals | Specifies the number of signals you want to wire to the Express VI. Configure this option first. This number must match the number of signals you wire to Digital Data In. Otherwise, LabVIEW returns an error. |
Use incoming waveform names | Allows you to retain the original names of the waveforms you wire to Digital Data In. This checkbox contains a checkmark by default. Remove the checkmark from this checkbox to use the line and bus names you specify using the Rename button. |
Order of signals | Displays the sequential order of the digital signals. |
Plot Legend | Contains the lines and buses you configure in the configuration dialog box. Use this tree control to drag and drop lines into the order you want to view them in the output array. To put lines into groups, right-click a line and select Insert Bus and then drag other lines onto that bus. You cannot drag a line onto another line, a bus onto another bus, or a bus onto a line. |
Graph Preview | Displays a preview of the lines and buses based on the organization you specify in the configuration dialog box. |
Rename | Allows you to rename the line or bus you select in the Plot Legend tree control. You also can right-click a line or bus and select Rename from the shortcut menu or double-click a line or bus to type a new name. To rename lines or buses, you must remove the checkmark from the Use incoming waveform names checkbox. Otherwise, the incoming line names take precedence over the new names you specify. |
Insert Bus | Inserts a new bus above the line or bus you select in the Plot Legend tree control. You also can right-click a line or bus and select Insert Bus from the shortcut menu. |
Delete All Buses | Deletes all the buses from the Plot Legend tree control. To delete a single bus, right-click the bus and select Delete Bus from the shortcut menu. You can delete only buses, not lines. LabVIEW considers lines listed under deleted buses as ungrouped signals. |
